Well, I was DREADING potty training for so long. I think ever since Morgan was born. But, I am happy to say Morgan is potty trained. With the exception of #2 I think we have it down. From what I have heard from other mother's the #2 takes some time. It has been over a week and we have only had a few accidents...one in public but outside...that I have to report. I am so proud of my little girl. She loves wearing her big girl panties. She tells us when she needs to go to the potty. She has a fear of going in public places so we will have to tackle that battle still. But, for the most part I am happy with the success we have made.
I read the book "Potty Training in a Day" and it worked great. It suggested you throw a "Party" for the day, our theme was Ocean and Water party. I got up early and decorated the house with water themed decorations and put a huge blue tarp on the floor of our living room and called it the Ocean. Morgan loved it. The first half of the day was focused on potty training her new doll. We named the doll Ella. She went pee pee and poo poo in the potty (the doll actually pees when you give it water) and she had several accidents. When Morgan woke up from her nap it was Morgan's turn. I think it was very helpful for her to train Ella and see what she was supposed to do. Monkey see Monkey do.
I am so very proud of my little baby girl. I am SO very glad we are out of diapers. It is SO nice only to have one baby in diapers right now. Hopefully the learning curve for the rest of our potty issues will be fast. My little girl is growing up so fast...right before my eyes. I have started planning for her third birthday in July. How could my little tiny girl already be turning three?
